Manchester United's new signing, Eric Djemba-Djemba, scored the silver goal as United edge to a 3 - 2 extra time victory in the Carling Cup at Elland Road. Leed's Roque Junior scored early in the second half. His goal was cancelled out 30 minutes later when young French striker, David Bellion, equalised in the 78th minute. The scoreline remains 1 - 1 after 90 minutes and the game went into extra time. United's only goal scorer on saturday, Diego Forlan, scored in the second period of extra time. Roque Junior then stunn United by scoring his second goal of the game. 2 minutes before the end of extra time, Eric Djemba-Djemba nets a goal and ended Leeds' hope of hanging on till the penalty shoot-out. Premiership:
Manchester United entertains Portsmouth on Saturday, 1st november. After the defeat at home to Fulham last weekend, United will be looking to restore some pride in themselves and their fans with the premiership new boys' visit. Portsmouth may have started their season relatively well, but they have yet to register a win on their travels. United is currently third on the league table, just 2 points behind leader, Arsenal, and 1 point behind big spender, Chelsea. (29/10/03)

The impact of tetrahydrogestrinone (THG) have caused FIFA to further look into Ferdinand's case along with 25 others. FIFA have however revealed that they will not be interfering with Ferdinand's case until the FA have taken action. (27/10/03)
